Sennen Cove is a mile or so from Lands End and is a brilliant place to put on your list because of the variety of opportunities. A lovely beach, picturesque harbour, towering cliffs , it's all there. In rough weather the waves can be spectacular and you can take images from your car if that's what you like to do.
From the harbour car park a short walk up the hill brings you to the old coastguard lookout with panoramic views to Lands End in one direction and Cape Cornwall in the other. A great position for sunset and wild weather watching and a lovely walk along the clifftop to Lands End.
The breakwater could be a whole project of its own, charting crashing waves, jumping swimmers, fishermen and still calm days.
The beach, especially at low tide, is a great place to wander with your camera. Plenty of scope for handheld people and wave watching but also for tripod work with longer exposures. Don't ignore the dunes above the beach as when there is good light the golden grasses really stand out.
If you carry on walking past the end of Sennen Beach you will come to Gwenver Beach nestled in the corner of the bay. The waves are often bigger here, there is a car park above the beach and the views from the car park are gorgeous. It's actually at the bottom of someone's garden and a great place for a picnic. Be warned the beach is accessed from the car park by steep steps that seem to go on forever when you're coming up.
