Bosigran Area
On the lovely North Coast Road between Lands End and St Ives there are many places to stop and after a short walk see sheer cliffs, crashing waves, heather and wild flowers. To access the cliffs at Bosigran park by the two engine houses on the roadside 1 mile after the village of Morvah. From here a path behind the engine houses takes you down to some beautiful scenery. A small stream runs down parallel to the path and tumbles over the cliffs into the sea although in warm summers it does dry up.
The cliffs are popular with climbers from all over the UK and beyond and with a long lens make great subjects for a bit of variety. The cliffs here in spring are a carpet of wild flowers and there are plenty of coast path walkers or artists to add people interest if that is your preferred genre of photography.
A lovely evening/sunset location.
On the opposite side of the road to the engine houses pathways take you up & up to Carn Galver where fantastic panorama views of Penwith can be had can be had, you can see both coasts.
You could spend the whole of a week's holiday here and never exhaust the possibilities. There is even a herd of wild ponies roaming the area and they can make for lovely images.
The headland itself and coastal footpath east & west provide endless compositions-given the choice and limited time go west as the sunset lights up the sheer sides of Bosigran.

Climbers on Commando Ridge-see Sept 6th & July 24th 2021 diary entries for more.
In the foreground is Commando Ridge -so called because it has been used for army training. If you type Commando Ridge in to YouTube there is a black & white film of commandos training in WW2 getting ready for the D Day landings. At the end you see them landing at the foot of Commando Ridge-how they survived I don't know.
In the background are the main climbing cliffs so popular today.
