Godrevy Lighthouse is a magnet for visiting photographers and anyone wishing to see a beautiful scene. A constant stream of visitors walking up to see the seals in their breeding cove and surfers by the hundred on some days.
A lot of visiting photographers stick to the cliff top but if you are able, getting down onto the rocks and beach is very worthwhile. Walking along the beach, miles of it, at low tide towards Hayle gives you lovely compositions back towards the lighthouse. When the sand is wet you can get some lovely reflections. Wear wellington boots as several streams come down the beach to soak your feet.
Lots of dog walkers and surfers to use in your images if that is your thing. If you like big sky images this is a great place and sunset is a very popular time but to be quite honest any time of day and in any conditions this is a great place to head for. In spring the cliff is covered in pink thrift and an image with this in the foreground is always popular.
